Yesterday I finished reading “My Life and Work” by Henry Ford. That was a good journey on how a big creator managed an automotive empire and made it more and more effective while facing new stimulating challenges.
I was amazed that he could hire 9,563 people with disabilities. Incredibly how many physically disabled people can have a normal job instead of basketing which is truly useless.
What I found interesting as well is that Ford was happy to create a product serving people for an eternity. You can buy a Ford car and change the details in it and it will still work. I compare this approach with Steve Jobs’ vision who vice versa created the product that should be upgraded regularly with new features and adapters making us dependent on Apple’s innovations.
Have you read a book about Toyota? I’m wondering if there is any similarity with Ford’s way of leading the company to success.
